WCI graduate Larissa Jerome is looking for some community support as she embarks on an International Development Mission. Jerome is planning on going to Brazil in May, as part of a mission with the Global Youth Development Network. She's currently studying International Development at the University of Waterloo and tells Heart FM she's looking to get some real world experience. She explains what makes the mission she's chose unique. "Instead of planning ahead of time, we go and we talk to the people in the community and we ask them what issues they've been having and what they really think would be necessary to implement. And then we bring in the resources and help them". Jerome says the last two weeks of the mission will have them travelling on the Amazon River where they will meet with indigenous tribe, which she says will be a really great experience. Jerome is trying to raise $3000 to make the trip possible this spring. Click here to make a donation towards Jerome's cause. Charitable receipts are issued directly from the Global Youth Volunteer Network for any donations over $15.
