Oxford County is holding two public meetings to receive feedback on their Woodland Conservation Bylaw draft
OXFORD COUNTY - A new Woodland Conservation Bylaw is in the process of being introduced to Oxford County.
There will be two public meetings taking place to talk about the importance of good forestry practices.
The County has taken information from the previous years and wants people to discuss and give feedback on the draft.
Gord Hough, Director of Community Planning.
"Woodlands serve both a social, economic and environmental function. And that's what the bylaws really intended to do to make sure the oxford county's woodlands are preserved and not just preserved for preservation sake but persevered just as a good management tool."
Hough, aslo comments that the feedback in the past.
"More exemptions with less processes and that's exactly what we tried to do we tried to simplify clarify and try to make available more exceptions to the bylaw more opportunities for people to be able to manage their woodlots without the bylaw having to effect that while doing that."
The first meeting will be November 29th at the Innerkip Community Centre 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The Seccond meeting will be November 30th at the Springford Community Hall 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
