The total grant was $81,595, which was distributed to 12 different local organizations.

WOODSTOCK - A grant just helped out over 10 local organizations!

The City of Woodstock announced that over 20 applications were received for its 2026 community grant program, and 12 were selected. Mayor Jerry Acchione, describes what the picking process was like.

"The ones that were successful, were organizations that showed the grant would help out a lot of residents."

The total amount given out was over $80,000, with Operation Sharing awarded $20,000, Big Brothers Big Sisters receiving $15,700 and Woodstock & District Development Services getting $10,000, just to name a few. Acchione talks about where the money comes from.

"OLG, so from community partners there at the OLG and the Casino, part of the agreement is that they give part of their profits to the City of Woodstock every year."

Acchione encourages all non-profits to apply for the fall intake of the community grants program.

The full agenda of the council meeting can be found here, which includes the full list of 2026 grant recipients.

There is also a notice of motion put forward by Councillor Liz Wismer-Van Meer about a volunteer recognition grant program that will be discussed at the next Woodstock City Council meeting on April 16.
