The increased police presence has ended around Oxford Ave., Innes St. and Wonham St. North in Ingersoll. While we understand these types of situations can cause concern, there is no threat to public safety.

For clarification to the previous post, as part of the initial response, no other schools were placed under a hold and secure.

INGERSOLL - There is an increased police presence around Oxford Ave., Innes St. and Wonham St. North in Ingersoll.
Oxford County OPP is advising the public of the matter, and officers are responding to a reported threat. In the meantime, Laurie Hawkins Public School has been evacuated, and other schools in the area have been placed under a hold and secure as a precaution. While the matter is currently contained, OPP is asking people to avoid the area.
