His publicist says he died this morning
One of the most well known American pop and jazz singers, who career spanned 7 decades, has died.
Tony Bennett's publicist says he died this morning at the age of 96 in New York, two weeks shy of his 97th birthday.
The 1962 version of I Left my Heart in San Francisco is perhaps what he's best known for.
No cause of death has been given, but Bennett was diagnosed with Alzhiemer's in 2016, and wrote on Twitter "Life is a gift, even with Alzheimer's."
He released countless albums and won many awards.
