A woman from Woodstock is facing charges after police believe she attempted to dodge a RIDE check, and OPP are looking for a dog owner after a child was bitten.
BRANT - A Woodstock woman is facing charges after trying to dodge a Brant OPP RIDE.
The OPP were set up on Colborne Street West around 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, February 20.
Police watched as a vehicle approached the RIDE check before turning into a parking lot of a closed business in an attempt to avoid police.
Police then spoke with the driver of the red 2009 Dodge Caravan and discovered the woman driving had been drinking.
The 33 year old is charged with operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in the blood.
She will appear in court at a later date.
The Brant OPP are looking for the owners of a dog after a child was bitten on Grandville Circle in Paris.
Police were told the dog was on the Cobblestone Elementary School grounds around 6 p.m. on Saturday. The child who was bitten did have a small puncture wound because of the bite.
They believe the dog was with its owner and two young girls (around six and ten) at the time.
The dog is described as possibly a Great Pyrenees and the owner was a man with dark hair, in his mid to late 30s.
The police want to talk to the owner of the dog to make sure it is up to date with its vaccinations. If you know anything about this, please call Brant OPP.
