WOODSTOCK - Money to be raised at CASS for a new eco-outdoor classroom
WOODSTOCK - A Pasta Night at College Ave Secondary School is set to raise money for an eco-outdoor classroom.
People will be able to treat themselves to classic and vegetarian lasagna, salad and rolls for dinner at the school on Thursday November 17th. Tiramisu will be served for dessert.
Principal Tiffany Birtch says the entire event will be staffed by students.
"We have a number of students that are helping out in the hospitality area as well as our drama production, art and student volunteers are assisting with the evening as well."
There will also be a special talent show on stage, featuring the school's magic club.
Birtch tells Heart FM how CASS could benefit from an outdoor classroom.
"It provides another opportunity to show our community involvement in offering another learning space outside. Our classes can take advantage of learning outside in the outdoor classroom as well as our students that are involved in the horticulture program and the installation of that."
This is the first major fundraiser the school has held for the outdoor classroom, which will cost about $20,000.
Dinner will be served from 6-7 PM and the entertainment will run from 7-8 PM.
