INGERSOLL - Pizza Fest returns to downtown Ingersoll!
The local BIA will be hosting the third annual event in the downtown core from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. today. Thames Street will be completely shut down from King Street and Charles Street during the event.
BIA Coordinator Virginia Armstrong says it's free to attend, but food and drink tickets cost $1 each.
"Three tickets will buy you a slice from an eight-slice pizza, so it's a big slice of pizza, and one ticket will buy you a pop or a water. So for $4 you can come out and have dinner and enjoy the food and entertainment!"
Five local restaurants will be battling it out to see who has the best pizza in town; Dominos, Ginos, Titos, Little Ceasars, and Pizza Hut.
A panel of judges will be meeting at 6:00 p.m. to see who has the Best Pepperoni Pizza and the Best Creative Pizza. Ginos won both categories last year.
Armstrong says they will also have lots of fun activities on-site for the whole family to enjoy.
"We have everything from children's activities, street performers, vendors, live music from Blind Dog Joe, and all kinds of stuff going on."
All of the proceeds from Pizza Fest will be going to the Ingersoll Creative Arts Centre, the Salvation Army, and the Lion's Club of Ingersoll.
Virginia Armstrong called the Heart FM studio to chat with Cody and Marcie on Wednesday July 24th. You can listen to the full interview below:
