Woodstock City council will get the opportunity to award the best floats that were involved in the Woodstock Christmas Parade.
WOODSTOCK - The holiday spirit is in full swing and Woodstock City Council is choosing what was the best float in the Christmas Parade.
This Thursday night during city council meetings awards will be handed out to the best industry company, school, local groups, clubs, and more. Mayor of Woodstock, Trevor Birtch has more on the award and the idea behind it.
"A lot of work goes into it, from so many volunteers business and industry, service clubs in our community. So we have categories for the best school, the best industry, the best business, the best service club and it's just a chance to recognize those individuals that went above and beyond."
Mayor Birtch continued with saying the youth have been getting involved with donations as well this year.
"One of the other things with some of the youth people out in the community is, this is their first opportunity to learn to give back to the community, so the donations that are taken. So their very excited to be able to know that they help make someone else in the Friendly City better over the holiday season."
He was also asked if he knew about Justin Bieber's showing at the parade and he had this to say.
"I did not get official confirmation but there was no denial on Justin's end."
