The city of Ingersoll has hired a consultant to help continue with the establishment of their solar farm. That's since the Ontario Power Authority's FIT Program has changed adding some complicated rules. Ingersoll's Economic Development Officer Bill Mates says they hired someone who had the required expertise to cipher through the program changes: Jim MacDougall works for Compass Renewable Energy Consulting in Toronto and has extensive experience with Hydro One and the Ontario Power Authority among others in the power industry. Mates says the project is in good shape: "Since the FIT Program was shut down and is being re-launched again, we just have to be very patient with the process. It may be a few months yet before they offer that window of opportunity for the larger solar projects." MacDougall will assist in making sure all of the program rules are being followed until then.
