Paul Plant is your Acting Mayor in Woodstock for 2013. Council held a nomination process on Thursday night, and Plant was the only councillor nominated. Plant will fill in for Pat Sobeski chairing meetings, and attending events when the Mayor is away. He takes over for Jim Northcott, who was Acting Mayor last year. Plant says he's up to the challenge. "Time wise, for the meetings I can handle; Pat is not away that much. Some of the things in the day time I might have a little trouble because I still do work full time for her majesty. I think it will be interesting; we've got some good issues on the plate here". Aside from his council duties, Plant is also a Senior Business Advisor for the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
