Environment Canada Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Steven Flisfeder says we can expect warmer than normal temperatures this summer.
OXFORD - We had quite the heat wave in Oxford County last week and it looks like we won't get another one anytime soon.
However, Environment Canada Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Steven Flisfeder says this summer won't be colder than it has been in previous years.
"Looking at the next couple of weeks, we are expecting a return to normal temperatures for this time of year. That is still fairly warm given that it's the middle of summertime. So looking at temperatures more in the 25 to 27 degrees Celsius range, of course, if you add humidity to that, it will feel warmer. Looking at a more extended period of time, we don't see anything that indicates a definite period of extreme heat in the short term or the medium term, so say the next two, or three weeks. That being said, the rest of the summer we're anticipating overall warmer than normal temperatures."
Flisfeder recommends staying hydrated, wearing sunscreen, and finding ways to cool off if you get too warm. Even with the super hot temperatures last week, he says last week's heat wave did not break records in Oxford County.
