Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Elgin, London, Middlesex and Oxford Network will be opening their doors to the public on September 9th, which is also Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Awareness Day.
September 9th is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder awareness day.
The Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Elgin, London, Middlesex and Oxford Network (FASD E.L.M.O) will be hosting an information open house on September 9th. Secretary of the E.L.M.O network Tracy Grant tells Heart FM who would benefit from this open house.
"We created a priority statement and it talks about prevention, assessing individuals and family focused life long interventions and supports for people that our impacted by FASD."
Grant says FASD is caused by prenatal exposure to alcohol and it impacts a child's brain development and the disorder will impact a person their entire life.
"It has a significant impact on a person’s ability to understand cause and affect and to be able to moderate their behaviour and responses to situations."
The open house will run from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at 1250 Dundas Street in London in the Katherine Harley Room.
