Mayor Trevor Birtch says the Bulk Item and Household Hazardous Waste Depot should be open by July.
WOODSTOCK - The opening of the Woodstock's Bulk Item and Household Hazardous Waste Depot is just around the corner.
Mayor Trevor Birtch explains why the date has been pushed back.
"The project did drag on a little longer than anticipated. One of the former businesses that were located on that site; we uncovered certain items underground and we had to remedy that."
Birtch says this will add to the cost of the project.
"There's a little bit of cost overrun due to the length of the project and a few things that we came across, so an additional $188,000 will go towards that in the form of financing from the city."
The facility on the corner of Springbank Ave and James Street should be open by July.
