Garbage Collection Delays in Tillsonburg

Tillsonburg residents are being told that if your garbage and recycling aren't collected by 7 p.m. to please bring them inside and set them out again tomorrow morning for collection.

TILLSONBURG - Waste collection in the Town of Tillsonburg will go late tonight.

This is the first week with a new contractor to collect garbage in Oxford County and they are still trying to get familiar with the route. Collections have gone late every day thus far and some areas have had their garbage collected the next day. 

Tillsonburg residents are being told that if your garbage and recycling aren't collected by 7 p.m. to please bring them inside and set them out again tomorrow morning for collection. Oxford County did want to thank residents your patience and understanding as our waste collectors operate routes for the first time. Director of Public Works David Simpson says it is possible that further delays will happen this week. 

“It is possible that waste and recycling collection may be delayed to an extent in the remaining collection areas this week, as our contracted drivers become more familiar and better acclimatized to the new collection routes across the County. We are committed to ensuring pickup in all areas will be completed accordingly this week.”
