They're big, they're loud, and they're back on our roads. Give farm vehicles space to work and be safe!
The OPP want to remind drivers to be mindful of any farm equipment they may see on the road.
Constable Ed Sanchuk of the OPP told HeartFM that this is the time of year you will see farm equipment travelling on the roads.
"We're letting all motorists know that you're going to see a significant influx of farm machinery as they're getting ready to plant their crops or whatever they may be doing. So we need to give farmers a break, we need to let them do their job in a safe manner but more importantly we need to drive in a safe manner and act accordingly to what you see in front of you."
Sanchuk added that if you are going to pass farm equipment on the road you need to do it in a safely.
"Make sure you are passing in a safe manner because a lot of times we're finding that when people are passing farm machinery the actual farm machinery and the farmer are making a left hand turn and they run right into each other."
These types of collisions almost always result in personal injury.
When approaching farm equipment on the road Sanchuk said it's best to be cautious.
"If you see large equipment on the roadway slow down, be patient, and only pass only when it's safe to do so. Do not tailgate large farm equipment as the operator may not be able to see you. And please, don't blow your horn at the operator of the equipment. They're not going to be able to hear you due to the noise produced by the equipment."
Be mindful of farm equipment operators and give them the necessary room to do their work.
