The potential for 40 to 60 millimeters of rain has caused a special weather statement from Environment Canada.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County has been put under a special weather statement.
Environment Canada is forecasting the potential of 40 to 60 millimeters of rain. The conditions are expected to continue into this evening, as thunderstorms continue to move through the area today. The main threat will be heavy rainfall as some locations could see multiple rounds of thunderstorms through the day.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads, and localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Heavy rainfall in combination with other weather factors, such as hail, wind and lightning will make outdoor activities unsafe. When thunder roars, go indoors!, and Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.
