OXFORD COUNTY - It was another edition of the Warden Interview on the Heart FM Morning Show.
The Oxford County Administration Building is still out of service. During the interview, Warden Marcus Ryan talked about the issue, and why the closure happened. Ryan says a water pipe broke causing a leak spreading to all four floors.
"Staff have been working kind of flat out since Friday morning to, you know, find the leak, stop the leak, drain the water out. Huge industrial fans, I got a tour of the building yesterday, industrial fans on every floor, all over the place, just moving air around to dry everything out."
He adds there is no timeline as to when the building will be reopened, but they could have a better understanding by the end of the week. Also, during the talk Ryan mentioned a new all way stop has come to Oxford County. The 4-way stop is at the intersection of Oxford Road 33 and 16th line in East Zorra-Tavistock, just west of Innerkip. He says why the intersection was revamped.
"Staff did traffic counts that said the traffic counts don't warrant it, actually. The traffic counts are too low, but the collision rates warrant it."
Ryan adds there will be signage saying the new stop signs are there, along with social media posts to let the public know of the change.
