WOODSTOCK - Police are looking for the driver of a newer black BMW after the individual fled the scene of an incident that left a male in serious but non-life threatening condition.
On Saturday around 8:45 p.m. the BMW was travelling eastbound on Highway 401 and exited onto northbound Mill St., in Woodstock. Meanwhile, the driver of a blue Ford Explorer became concerned as to how the black BMW was being driven. Both vehicles turned eastbound onto Juliana Dr. and came to a stop just east of the intersection.
In an attempt to talk to the driver of the BMW, the driver of the blue Ford Explorer, exited his vehicle. As he approached the BMW, it accelerated suddenly and struck him causing injury to his right leg. The BMW then fled the area last seen northbound on Mill St.
Woodstock Police were on scene quickly but could not locate the BMW. The male driver that was struck was transported by ambulance to Woodstock Hospital.
The Woodstock Police are reminding motorists who observe a traffic complaint to pull over to a safe location and call 911 while locking their vehicle doors and remaining inside their vehicle, to ensure their safety.
The BMW is described as a black newer model, 4-door, with black rims and dark tinted windows. Police are looking for any information regarding this incident.
