Oxford County's recreation facilities could soon see some upgrades with the launch of the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund in Ontario. FedDev Ontario is allocating more than 49 million dollars over 2 years to support on a cost-shared basis, repairs and improvements to existing community infrastructure projects used by the public. MP Dave MacKenzie says this money is good for the community, creates work and improves the stock in recreation facilities in all Canadian communities. Local, regional and First Nation governments, as well as not for profit organizations with projects that can be completed before March 31, 2014 are invited to apply for funding. The application deadline is August 24th, 2012.
