OXFORD COUNTY - The Minister of Labour for the Province of Ontario Monte McNaughton called into Heart FM today for exclusive interview.
McNaughton answers questions on the following:
- Can you talk about the guidelines for businesses to re-open, how did you come up with them, how strictly will they be enforced.
- Many Toyota, Cami and other manufacturing facilities staff are nervous to go back to work. What advice do you have for them.
- Protecting workers who do complain about unsafe working conditions.
- What can staff do if they are afraid to return to work? Do they have any recourse?
- The Ministry of Labour has already shut down 18 job sites and have done 5,000 inspections.
- Do you think businesses will have to make some permanent changes, did industrial factories have some issues that may have made them more prone to contracting COVID-19.
- He also stresses how important it is to shop local, now more than ever.
