The Woodstock Lakers will represent the Friendly City in the Western Ontario Super Hockey League.
WOODSTOCK - A new hockey team is getting ready to call the Friendly City home.
The Woodstock Lakers will play in the Western Ontario Super Hockey League, consisting of players over the age of 20. Former Boston Bruin Jeff Zehr is the owner, General Manager, and head coach of the team.
Assistant General Manager Nicholas Maass says gamegoers are sure to expect an exciting game from the team.
“There's some really good talent. It’s semi-professional, so it's going to be really good hockey, good competition. If you want some good rock em’ sock em’ hockey, come to a game.”
Details on tryout camps haven’t been decided just yet, but the team is hoping to be ready for gameplay come October.
To learn more about the team, visit them on Facebook or on their website.
