The Kirwin Cares Golf Tournament will return to the Oxford Hills on Saturday August 26th in support of Easter Seals.
MOUNT ELGIN - The Kirwin Cares Golf Tournament will return to the Oxford Hills for its third year.
It's scheduled for Saturday August 26th this year and all of the proceeds will be going to the Easter Seals.
Michelle Kirwin is a sales representative for Century 21 Heritage House and she has raised over $35,000 for the cause since the first tournament back in 2021. She has a big fundraising goal in mind.
"I have a $100,000 goal for five years to raise for Easter Seals. It's how I work, I function off of setting myself up with a target and trying to hit that, so now I have to do it!"
Kirwin says she is privileged to help raise money for this organization, adding she recently visited Easter Seals Camp Woodeden in London.
"This money that goes to this organization is helping kids with disabilities. It really does make a difference in these children's lives so they can have a real camp experience."
Registration will begin at 12:00 p.m. the day of, with the shotgun start scheduled for 1:00 p.m. There will also be a cocktail hour with a silent auction at 5:00 p.m. and a steak and chicken dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m.
It costs $150 per golfer to sign up. Kirwin says over 140 golfers will be participating in this year's event and they still have room for about 10 more. Those interested can contact Kirwin by calling 519-608-3099 or sending an e-mail to michelle.kirwin@century21.ca.
