The Elgin OPP tried to pull him over twice in the Chatham-Kent area before the Oxford OPP finally stopped him in South-West Oxford.
ELGIN/OXFORD - The Oxford OPP has busted a man from Montreal on Highway 401.
Officers in Chatham-Kent tried to pull over a vehicle in the westbound lanes close to the 79-kilometre marker at around 7:30 a.m. on Monday morning because it didn't have any licence plates.
The vehicle sped away, but officers spotted it again about two hours later, close to the 82-kilometre marker in the eastbound lanes.
It got away again, but officers in Oxford County were finally able to stop it in the eastbound lanes in South West Oxford. That's when they discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen from a car dealership in Hamilton.
A 49-year-old is now facing a list of charges including possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, careless driving, driving a vehicle with no licence plates, mischief that destroys or damages property, and three counts of flight from a peace officer.
He will appear in a St. Thomas courtroom today.
