OPP have already responded to over 15 collisions in the County this morning following the freezing rain.
OXFORD COUNTY - Roads are very slippery across the region today as we got hit with some freezing rain this morning.
OPP constable Stacey Culbert tells Heart FM police have responded to a number of collisions already today.
"The OPP already this morning has investigated over 15 collisions in the area, we do have 7 collisions on the 401 engaged right now and we hope to have those cleared quickly, we also had a number of collisions on County roads, fortunately we have not had any serious injuries with all the crashes today."
Culbert says they are asking motorists to drive to the conditions and slow down.
"Too fast for the conditions has been a factor, there have been several 100 people travelling on these highways that are not getting into crashes, so obviously there is some driver error that is happening so just drive within your abilities, if you don't feel you want to drive at the speed limit, just put your hazards on and drive accordingly. Just travelling myself going from the Ingersoll area to Woodstock, it was nice to see most people abiding by that, I didn't see anyone driving at the posted 80 km/hr speed limit, we were all travelling between 60 and 70 km/hr."
