The Perth County OPP detachment now has two ATV's to help with investigations on rough terrain.
PERTH COUNTY - A pair of new ATV's will be helping the Perth OPP keep the county safe.
The detachment now has two ATV's to help patrol the rough terrain of the area and Constable Kees Wijnands says it will be a big help.
"There were often times when he had difficulty accessing some of the areas that we needed to patrol due to the rough terrain or trails or bush area that we just couldn't reach so we ended up borrowing machines from neighbouring areas."
Specially trained officers will now be using the machines to patrol along trails and railway lines and for special events.
"You have to have a lot of knowledge about the machine you're operating and of course the dangers and the safety aspects of these machines that people should be aware of and should be abiding by."
