A new program fee structure approved by council means the Parks and Rec department will be able to offer new programs this fall and winter.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock City Council has approved a new program fee structure for the Parks and Recreation department. This new structure will allow the city to run more extra curricular programs.
Patrick King, Supervisor of Aquatic and Recreation Programs tells Heart FM about some of the programs on tap for the fall and winter months.
"We have a kitchen prep course, kids in kitchen program, we have yoga for teens and for kids, we have a teen leadership program. It gives us an opportunity to offer sports programs; we have had tennis and now we are going to start offering basketball."
King adds most of the youth programs are relatively affordable.
"For a lot of our youth programs you're looking between, depending on the time, between $6 and $8 per class. If you are looking for an 8 week hour long program you are looking at $40."
Registration information can be found in the fall winter activity guide in What's On Woodstock Magazine. Online registration is also being introduced this year, and will run on the city of Woodstock's website.
