Come April 13, Woodstock Fire Chief Scott Tegler will once again have a right hand man.
WOODSTOCK - A familiar face will be returning to the Woodstock Fire Department as their new Deputy Fire Chief.
Jason Whiteley beat out roughly 30 other applicant for the position left vacant when Brian Arnold left the position at the end of January.
Woodstock Fire Chief Scott Tegler says Whiteley worked as a Training Officer in Woodstock before moving on to Deputy Fire Chief in Norfolk County.
Tegler says there are many large benefit's to Whiteley's return to the City.
"Having that familiarity with Woodstock Fire Department, our municipality, our former governance and that type of thing, and also the knowledge and relationships with our current staff. It enables us to continue on in a positive way and maybe do a few things sooner than we might have not been able to enjoy if it had been someone else."
Whiteley's first day on the job is April 13.
