Question in the anonymous survey have been developed to help the Oxford County Rainbow Coalition better plan community services and get an idea of the experiences the LGBTQ community are going through in the County. Public Health Nurse Gayle Milne tells Heart FM some of the questions that will be asked in the survey.
"Questions will look at people's experience with health care systems, mental health systems and just within their life and any concerns they may have about homophobia and transphobia in Oxford County."
Milne says it is so important that we get some information from people who have experience in our community.
'It is so important that we get some information from people who have experience in our community. There is data from provincial and federal studies as well as studies from larger centres, but this information may not be transferable to our local, rural community. We need local information in order to provide the best services possible to the people in our community."
The survey was done by the Oxford County Rainbow Coalition, Oxford County Public Health and the University of Wilfred Laurier. You can take part in the survey online by clicking this link.
