Police say the 28-year-old man stole a pickup truck at a nearby business yesterday and he is scheduled to appear in a courtroom in Woodstock at a later date.
EMBRO - One man from Zorra Township is facing various charges after Oxford County OPP received a report of a possible stolen vehicle at a property on Road 80, near Embro.
During their investigation, police say a pickup truck was stolen from a nearby business at approximately 4:00 a.m yesterday.
The truck seen at a farm in the area, however, once it was spotted, it fled the scene. The truck and driver were later seen parked at another business. When the owner of the property interrupted the break in, the driver fled the scene on foot.
Members of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and West Region Canine Unit arrived to help out.
The accused was later found in another vehicle and arrested.
28-year-old Maxwell Jongeneelen was charged with the following offences:
- Theft Over $5000 of a Motor Vehicle
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Break and Enter
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Fail to Comply With Probation Order x 2
He is scheduled to appear in a Woodstock courtroom at a later date.
