Provincial Police are warning hunters of the penalties for not following the hunting laws in Ontario.
MIDDLESEX - Middlesex OPP are reminding hunters to make sure you are following all of the laws and are doing everything safely and legally.
Before you can venture out make sure you know what you need to know before hunting in Ontario. This includes how to get a hunting license, Outdoors Card, trapping, falconry, and camping on crown land. OPP warn you can get hit with a $25,000 fine or even prison time for hunting carelessly.
This can include improper handling of a firearm or discharge of a firearm without due care. You can also get fined or go to jail for hunting on private property. For a summary of rules for hunting in Ontario, please visit the MNR website.
