Residents in Thamesford now have mandatory outside water use restrictions. Last week, a voluntary request was sent out to all of Oxford County, but Thamesford's Water System has reached a threateningly low level. Thamesford residents are allowed to use a sprinkler to water lawns and gardens only one day per week between 6:00 and 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. according to the last digit of the municipal street address: 0 or 1 - Outside water use allowed on Mondays 2 or 3 - Outside water use allowed on Tuesdays 4 or 5 - Outside water use allowed on Wednesdays 6 or 7 - Outside water use allowed on Thursdays 8 or 9 - Outside water use allowed on Fridays Manager of Water Services for Oxford County Deborah Goudreau says there will be penalties for violators. A verbal or written warning will be given on the first offence and then the water pressure may be reduced on the second offence. There's a charge to have the pressure returned to normal. A reminder that these restrictions apply to Thamesford only. The rest of Oxford County is encouraged to participate voluntarily. More information at: www.oxfordcounty.ca/howmuch
