A winter storm warning is in effect for Oxford, Brant, Norfolk, Middlesex, Perth, and Elgin.
The incoming storm could make for a tough drive home tonight and early tomorrow for some people in our area.
The beginning of the storm will start this morning with a few flurries, but according to Environment Canada they expect that to worsen by this afternoon. We are looking at around 5 cm with blowing snow as the winds pick up to 50 km/h gusts.
Some ice pellets could be thrown into the mix as the storm continues tonight and into the morning. With the snow and ice pellets combined, we are looking at anywhere from 10 - 20 cm and winds gusting up to 60 km/h.
Snow squalls are expected tomorrow morning as the storm starts to move on.
Drivers are being reminded to check their emergency kits before heading out the door and to be careful on the roads; leave plenty of space between cars and adjust driving conditions accordingly.
