Woodstock Police will be participating alongside Brantford Police and the Norfolk OPP.
TURKEY POINT - The Woodstock Police Service is bracing the cold for a great cause!
It is partnering with the Brantford Police Service along with the Norfolk County OPP to host a Polar Plunge at Turkey Point Beach on Saturday.
Each year, the event brings together people from all across Ontario who are willing to brave the frigid waters to help support more than 23,000 Special Olympics athletes. The event is a fun and meaningful way for the community to help support such a great cause!
The fundraiser is presented by the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run which is a movement that raises awareness and financial support for Special Olympic athletes from all around the province.
Those interested in joining the plunge can register at the beach for a $40 registration fee at 12:00 p.m., with the event itself taking place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.. You can also fundraise at least $99 if you want to avoid paying the registration fee. There will be changing trailers and Porta Potties available on the sites as well.
You can find more information online here.
The plunge takes place Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Turkey Point Beach. Registration starts at 12 p.m., and the event officially begins at 1 p.m.
