WOODSTOCK - It's a great opportunity to take your dog for a dip in the water and support Tiny Paws Dog Rescue.
There will be a Pooch Plunge fundraiser at the Southside Aquatic Centre on September 10th, where lots of dogs will be playing in the splash pad and wading pool.
Fundraising Coordinator Linda Collier says there will be different 55 minute plunge times depending on the size of your dog.
"Sometimes bigger dogs can be a little overwhelming for little dogs so we are going to start off with a small dog and puppy pooch plunge, then do a big one for 55 minutes, then another small dog and puppy one then another big one."
Collier says for only $5 it's a great way to cool your dogs off after a super hot summer.
"This an opportunity where they actually can take your dog out, they are going to be in the pool they are going to be cooling down."
The Pooch Plunge will kick off at 11am and will end at 3pm.
Tiny Paws Dog Rescue fosters dogs 20 pounds and under and helps them find forever homes. While in their care Tiny Paws makes sure each dog is assessed by a veterinarian, before being sent to a foster home. While in the home the foster home their personality is assessed before they get posted to the Tiny Paws adoption page. If someone adopts a dog through Tiny Paws they can return it to the organization at any point if it doesn't work out, to make sure the pup always has a roof over its head.
