The hot and humid weather is back for the next few days, prompting Public Health to issue a heat alert for our area. With a humidex advisory in effect, and temperatures expected to reach 33 degrees or higher over the next few days, Public Health has issued the alert for July 4-6. With the humidex values factored in, temperatures are expected to near 40 degrees over the next three days. Public Health reminds everyone to be extra cautious during this time and be especially vigilant of children, seniors and those who suffer from chronic health problems. Keep yourself hydrated, avoid intense activity outdoors and when outside, wear a hat or seek shade as often as possible. Remember to check on neighbours or family who are at risk and never leave a child or pet in a vehicle.
