Michael Rafferty has filed legal documents to appeal his conviction in the murder of 8-year-old Victoria Stafford. Reports indicate his grounds for appeal is that the judge did not properly instruct the jury. He is requesting another jury trial. Rafferty is being held at the Kingston Penitentiary and is serving out a life sentence with no parole for 25-years. He was convicted by a jury in May this year in the murder, sexual assault and kidnapping of Tori Stafford in 2009. There's no timeline as to when a hearing would be held on the appeal. It was filed to the Ontario Court of Appeal on July 26th.
