The Thames Valley District School Board is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the High School Here I Come program.
TVDSB - Moving from elementary to high school can be scary.
The Thames Valley District School Board is trying to lessen the worry as they have put together the High School Here I Come program. This year, the program is entering its 20th year and will be offered at all 23 high schools across the school board.
Program Supervisor, Paul MacGregor says registration this year is looking very promising so far.
"It's running August 21st to the 22nd, then we have a second cohort running the 23rd to the 24th. Currently, we have over two thousand students registered."
MacGregor adds students will get the necessary tools needed in order to best prepare for high school.
"During the two days, we are going to give the students programming to help them sort of make that transition to high school. We are going to talk about the realities of high school, things we probably look at and take for granted."
Oxford County will be represented. College Ave, Huron Park, and Woodstock Collegiate, along with Glendale High School in Tillsonburg, and Ingersoll District Collegiate will be taking part in the program.
You can visit the TVDSB website to find out all the information needed to register.
