Oxford OPP set up a RIDE spot check on Monday night in Tillsonburg and ended up arresting a couple of people on criminal charges related to drugs and weapons.
TILLSONBURG - Several criminal charges were laid during a RIDE spot check in Tillsonburg.
Police set up at the intersection of Tillson Avenue and North Street around 11:30 p.m. on Monday. As a result of the stop, officers issued offence notices for Liquor Licence Act infractions and suspension notices for driver's licences.
Three people were arrested with various criminal and drug related offences, including two people from Tillsonburg, and are scheduled to appear in a Woodstock court at a later date.
50 year old Charles Chambers of Tillsonburg was charged with:
- Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 3
- Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Over 30g Cannabis in Public Place
21 year old Zoey Ristimaki of Tillsonburg was charged with:
- Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
- Failure to Comply with Probation Order
- Possession of Schedule 1 Substance - Opioid x 2
