Brittlestar is going to MC the gala that will feature several stars including André Picard, Loreena McKennitt, Lloyd Robertson and Corey Connors.
STRATFORD - Households across Stratford, St. Marys and Perth County are invited to stay in on Saturday night for the Stay At Home Gala.
Produced and hosted by the Stratford Perth Community Foundation, this local event is part of a cross-country series of Stay At Home Gala events, which will welcome Canadian thought leaders and entertainers into living rooms in 20 regions across Canada.
Physical distance at its finest, guests will dress up and welcome Canadian personalities virtually into their homes. The Stay At Home Gala will host all the familiar elements of a gala: lively entertainment, dinner (take out or home delivery highly encouraged to support local business), cocktails (virtual bartender provided), the opportunity to dress up (slippers a must), and the opportunity to rally together entire households virtually connecting across the region and supporting the vital services of local not for profit organizations impacted by COVID-19.
Master of Ceremonies Brittlestar will masterfully and lightheartedly guide the evening. The gala kicks off with a cocktail demonstration by Jessie Votary, followed by inspiring messages from our thought leaders: Loreena McKennitt, multi-award winning (2 Juno Awards; Grammy nominated) Canadian singer-songwriter, Member of the Order of Canada and Honorary-Colonel of the Royal Canadian Air Force; Lloyd Robertson, Canadian journalist and former CTV news anchor and Member of the Order of Canada with wife Nancy; Andrew William, CEO Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance; Joani Gerber, CEO investStratford; Eddie Matthews, General Manager, Stratford & District Chamber of Commerce; John Kastner, General Manager, Stratford Perth Museum; Anita Gaffney, Executive Director, Stratford Festival; Mindful Mike; Corey Conners, PGA golf professional and Valero Texas Open Champion with wife Malory; and Doug MacDougald, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation and CEO Southwest Ontario Veterinary Services with wife Barbara Green. Musicians performing include Juno nominated Dayna Manning and The Bookends. A pre-show will feature Steve Rae’s Song Garden. Attendees can interact with Steve to request a favorite song.
The national Stay At Home Gala will feature André Picard, Canada’s top health and public policy observer and commentator and music and entertainment from Canadian artists such as Juno Award and Polaris Prize-nominated singer Tanika Charles.
The local show starts at 7 pm and then the national show kicks in at 8 pm. You can find more information about how to log in and purchase a ticket online here.
This event is open to our entire community and attendees have the option of making a donation. Proceeds from the evening will go to the Community Foundation’s Charitable Response Fund that will provide support to our region’s chartable sector deeply impacted by this pandemic.
