The community in Harrington is invited to celebrate Harrington Heritage Day on Saturday. The event will be at the Harrington Hall, Grist Mill and Harrington Community Centre.
HARRINGTON - It is Harrington Heritage Day this Saturday.
The free event will be taking place across three locations in Harrington, where people can see and try different attractions and activities.
Treasurer of the Harrington and Area Community Association Brenda Krantz says there are a lot of things on hand.
"The central focus of Harrington is the Grist Mill and the Harrington Mill Pond, but also the school. The school attracts visitors every year, there are people that went to school there many decades ago and they love to come back and see others that went there and look at the photos."
She says there will be different activities for people of all ages, including classic cars on display, square dance and demo and old times games like checkers, croquet and crokinole.
The activities will be at the Harrington Hall, Grist Mill and the Harrington Community Centre.
Krantz says they have been organizing Heritage Day in its current form for three years.
"We did something similar last year on a smaller scale and this one is, again, it's smaller than 2017 but still hopefully that will interest a large number of people both young and old."
There will also be a barbecue lunch from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in front of the Mill.

The event goes from 10:00 to 4:00 pm.
