Gems & Java will takeover Maranatha Christian Reformed Church on Saturday April 27th and tickets cost $65 each.
WOODSTOCK - The 13th annual Gems and Java is fast approaching.
It's about two weeks away now, scheduled for Saturday April 27th at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church in Woodstock, running from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. that day.
All of the proceeds will be going to Mothers With a Heart for Ethiopia, and Founder Shelley Green says the event includes a presentation that educates everyone about their projects overseas.
"Often times for people who are new and people who return every year, they learn something new. They walk away from that event thinking it was a great afternoon that was fun and enjoyable, but not only that, they walk away knowing that they have been a part of something important."
Green adds The Power Of One is the theme of this year's event.
"I think a lot of people think 'well what can I really do and is it really going to make a difference?' What we really want to hit home with our guests, is you can make a difference. When you focus on one person or two people, you can make the world of a difference for those people and if we all do that, then we are going to change the world!"
Gams and Java will also have the Bags and Baubles Boutique this year, as well as a silent auction, an Ethiopian Merkato for shopping, and more.
Tickets cost $65 each or $460 for a table of eight people. You can buy your tickets and find more information about the event online here.
Shelley Green stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Wednesday April 10th. You can listen to the full interview below:
