Taste samples of different local craft beer at Stratford Beer Fest
STRATFORD - Local craft breweries are on display today in Stratford.
Today is the 2nd annual Stratford Beer Fest at Market Square from 2pm till 8pm.
Event Coordinator Julia Allum says it's to remind everyone that there are more than just big beer companies.
"What we want to do is we want to showcase, not just the big guys, but craft breweries have become such a following in and around this area and just local ingredients and local jobs. So we want to showcase that to let people know that there are a lot of alternatives out there."
You can sample craft beer from over 20 local breweries from a free souvenir sample mug.
The whole while, live music, food trucks and entertainment to enjoy.
Allum says there is even plenty for kids to enjoy.
"The kids love the live entertainment and then we also have somebody called the bubble queen that comes in. So she'll put on shows throughout the day and these are very very very large bubbles that she blows up into the air. And the kids have just a ball chasing them, and watching them."
Tickets cost $30 at the door, $10 for designated drivers and kids over 12. Kids 12 and under are free.
