Police believe they have a description of a person of interest in two overnight vehicle thefts.
TAVISTOCK - Oxford OPP are reminding everyone to never leave valuables in vehicles overnight or in plain sight.
Police are investigating two vehicle thefts on Jacob Street West in Tavistock. Authorities say sometime between 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday August 15th and 12:50 a.m. Thursday, the suspect entered two vehicles which were parked in the driveway, and stole several items, including; an IPod, GPS, fishing tackle box, sunglasses, watch, trail camera, wallet, baseball bat and glove, and some Canadian cash.
Police believe they are looking for a male suspect in connection to the thefts. He is described as being in his late teens or early twenties, dark hair, wearing shorts, a t-shirt, black running shoes and carrying a dark backpack, and may have been driving an SUV.
Police are continuing the investigation, and will release more information when it is available. In the meantime, police are warning people that these types of situations are often crimes of opportunity and more importantly preventable.
