The Woodstock and Area Community Health Centre (WACHC) has moved to a new location. And as Executive Director Cate Melito says, it's a lot bigger too: "Our old site was about 3,500 square feet on the main floor which was accessible space, where now we have 7,000. So that's a big change." More space means four more exam rooms, increased nutritional and mental health counseling, more educational programs and self-management groups. The centre provides services for residents who face challenges finding health care including people with addictions, mental-health issues or low incomes. They are currently working in partnership with Addiction Services Thames Valley and the Ingersoll Nurse Practitioner-led clinic to establish a co-ordinated access to assessment, education, and counseling services to the area. You can now find them at 35 Metcalf Street, formerly the old Post Office.
