There are four cooling centres located in Oxford County for those looking to beat the heat during this heat wave.
OXFORD COUNTY - There are several cooling centres located throughout the Southwestern Public Health Region to help everyone beat the heat over the next few days.
We have four cooling centres located in Oxford County. Two of them are in Tillsonburg while the other two are in Woodstock and Ingersoll. You can find all of the details listed below:
Reeves Community Complex (front lobby)
381 Finkle Street, Woodstock,
Open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for today and tomorrow.
Fusion Youth Centre
121 Thames St N. Ingersoll
Open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Tillsonburg Town Centre Mall
200 Broadway, Tillsonburg
Open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Also open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays.
Tillsonburg Community Centre
45 Hardy Ave, Tillsonburg
Open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Also open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Oxford County. It's predicting daytime highs between 29 and 32 over the next few days, but it will feel closer to the 37 to 40 range with the humidity. We can also expect overnight lows between 18 and 21. The heat warning is expected to continue through tomorrow, but Environment Canada says we could be in for cooler temperatures on Friday.
