Woodstock City Council has approved an interim tax levy for next year.
WOODSTOCK - An interim tax levy for 2017 has been approved by Woodstock City Council.
Treasurer Patrice Hilderley says the levy provides temporary funding until the budget is approved.
"We issue two tax bills, one in February and one at the end of May and the total of those two are 50% of the taxes paid last year."
Once the budget is approved and the tax has been calculated, the new tax bills will be reduced based on the amount that was collected in February and May.
Council approved the levy at their meeting Thursday night.
