The Woodstock Little Theatre has signed a new 20 year lease agreement for the Market Centre Theatre.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Little Theatre has a long history in Woodstock and it's just going to get longer.
Woodstock Little Theatre had fundraised $400, 000 for the new Market Centre Theatre and entered into a new 20 year lease agreement with the city of Woodstock.
However, Mayor Trevor Birtch said that the Woodstock little theatre won't be the only tenant but they will be the primary tenant.
"They'll be there as the primary tenant and it's all laid out as to what times it can be used for other activities and it'll all take place through our director of culture. She'll manage those aspects of it and make sure that it's a right fit for what we're trying to do at the Market Building"
Birtch also said that it's a great addition to the future of the city.
Because the current lease agreement ends on February 29, 2016, the new agreement goes into effect on March 1st 2016. It will remain into effect until March 1st 2036.
