Police Briefs include a nasty case of mischief and a close call for a motorcycle rider.
WOODSTOCK - It was another busy weekend for the Woodstock Police who responded to 163 calls for services.
Some of the calls related to mental health, minor collisions, domestics and vehicle injuries.
On Friday night a motorcyclist sustained injuries after he had to swerve to avoid a crash with a minivan. Police say the biker thought the minivan was going to turn in front of him so he dropped his bike down on the roadway to avoid a collision. The biker sustained injuries to his right shoulder, right arm and the left side of his face. The minivan driver was charged with driving while under suspension, turn not in safety and was given a 3 day license suspension for registering an alert on a roadside screening device.
Also on Friday night police were called, after getting word of a gas can on fire with a trail to a vehicle parked on Winniett and Ingersoll Road. The suspects located the gas can in the back of the vehicle and then poured the gas on the ground about 8 feet away, they left a trail of gas to the car and then ignited it. Thankfully someone saw what they were doing and called police and the fire was put out before it could cause any injuries or damage to property.
