Tyler McGregor gave his presentation at the Woodstock Chamber Annual General Meeting last Wednesday.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Chamber of Commerce had a chance to hear from a World Champion and Olympian.
Tyler McGregor is a key member of the Canadian Sledge Hockey team that recently won a gold medal at the World Championships and Bronze in Sochi for the Olympics. He shared his inspirational story of going from a top junior hockey prospect, to losing his leg because of cancer and finding a way to rebound in Sledge hockey. McGregor explains one message he hopes people took away from his presentation.
"My story is a lot about overcoming adversity, I think if I can share with people that adversity can be viewed in many different ways and there is many different ways to overcoming challenges and it is just a matter of how you choose to look at them, I think that is a very important message. One of my favourites now for a reason is you don't always get to choose the cards your dealt, but you do get to choose how you play them and that is all about your perspective and how you choose how to deal with your challenges, we are all dealt with challenges every day, big or small."
